Who we are
Caffeinating Resistance Since Trump Came Down That Elevator
At Grounds for Impeachment Coffee, we believe a cup of coffee can be more than your morning wake-up ritual. It can be a refuge, a fuel for your soul, and — let's be honest — a daily reminder that someone has to clean up this orange mess.
Born in California's San Francisco Bay Area, home of passionate change-makers and yes, overpriced avocado toast, our mission is simple: brew bold, ethically sourced coffee, fund the fight for democracy, and remind America what it's supposed to stand for. We are a mission-driven brand — proudly activist-themed, unapologetically progressive, and committed to social justice one cup at a time.
Our Origin Story(Spoiler: No Capes, Just Coffee)
We launched Grounds for Impeachment Coffee because we couldn't sit on the sidelines. As the Trump era unfolded — the chaos, the corruption, the 3 AM rants — we kept asking ourselves: what can we actually do? The answer turned out to be surprisingly simple. Make really good coffee, fund organizations fighting back, and build a community of people who give a damn.
We stand for:
Respect for democratic norms and institutions (we're looking at you, checks and balances)
Social justice and equality (because kindness matters)
Science-based policy and climate action (yes, the Earth is still warming and endless denialism isn’t a solution)
Media freedom, civility, and truth (fake news? NOPE)
Economic fairness and middle-class dreams (we see you, student loans)
A Cup That Stands For Something
Every bag of G4IC coffee is ethically sourced, sustainably grown, and roasted fresh by one of the Bay Area's most respected roasters. But more than that, it's caffeinated activism in bean form.
At no extra cost, $1 from every bag goes directly to a democracy-defending organization — and you choose which one at checkout. We cover all processing fees, so 100% of your dollar reaches your chosen cause. Every quarter, we write the checks. Every quarter, all of our partner organizations receive support.
Because your caffeine habit really can change the world — one cup at a time.
In The News & Beyond
We've earned over 70 five-star reviews from customers across the country who love the coffee and the cause. We've been a proud sponsor and coffee provider at the Bay Area Book Festival two years running, and have been featured on KTVU FOX 2 and KRON4. In June 2025, we were featured alongside historian Michelle Craig McDonald at the University of Pennsylvania's "Brewing a Revolution" lecture, exploring coffee's revolutionary role in America's founding. From Philadelphia's colonial coffeehouses to your morning cup — some things never change.
Together, let's rise, brew, and do better.
